News International Ltd is the main UK subsidiary of News Corporation. The company's national news titles are published by two subsidiary companies, Times Newspapers Ltd and News Group Newspapers Ltd.
A requirement came from News International to convert an existing hardcopy handbook and basic online version into a content manageable electronic version. It would be made available to internal staff across its organisation in the UK and Ireland and would act as the central repository for all company policies and procedures.
We worked with London-based design agency To The Point who created a fresh design with clear navigation, layout and colour scheme.
The key requirements of this solution were that it should be accessible from within the News International network. It also needed to have a fresh design with clear navigation, layout and colour scheme. Multiple users would require access to create, edit and move policies which needed to incorporate an approval process. The site would need to have all content manageable via a WYSIWYG editor. News International also wanted the ability to create new sites easily. Finally, they required an intuitive administration area for administrators to control content, documents and approval functions.
CSP used as much out of the box functionality of MOSS as possible in order to keep cost and maintenance as low as possible. The following functions and features were utilised in this solution

News International can now deploy a staff handbook to new and existing employees much quicker than with their previous hardcopy version and UK-centric and basic online version. Amendments to company policy can be conveyed to staff instantaneously and saves on printing expenditure.
