Hedra uses Microsoft SharePoint to share information via a portal

For Hedra, an independent management consulting, solutions and services company, sharing information is of prime importance. The organisation’s existing intranet no longer met its needs, so the Creative SharePoint team built a tailored solution from scratch. The result is an easy-to-use, fully integrated system that has become business-critical.

Intranet to support expanding business and users in multiple locations

Hedra is a management consulting, solutions and services company. The largest independent consultancy working primarily for public services organisations and suppliers, Hedra helps its clients to reduce costs, use new technologies and deliver better services.

With employees in multiple locations and a large proportion of home workers, Hedra has a strong need to share information and knowledge within the organisation and to ensure that versions of documents are always relevant and up-to-date. The company’s existing intranet system was proving inflexible and not up to the demands of a rapidly expanding business. The Creative SharePoint team was asked to assess Hedra’s intranet and suggest ways to improve it.

Creative SharePoint builds bespoke portal from scratch

The first step was to complete a detailed analysis of Hedra’s existing intranet structure. Our recommendation was to rebuild the entire intranet from scratch, including a new design and a two-server platform.

Following Hedra’s guidelines and requirements, we designed and built a SharePoint portal that allows information to be quickly and easily published, managed and accessed. A combination of bespoke structures and off-the-shelf solutions maximized Hedra’s investment and gave the company exactly what it asked for.

Hedra’s SharePoint portal is now fully integrated into the organisation and has become an information source that is critical to the business. The Creative SharePoint team continues to ensure the smooth running of Hedra’s portal, providing support and maintenance and developing new applications and modules as the need arises.
